Update: Lafayette Boulevard Safety & Comprehensive Study

September 1 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

SPECIAL COMMUNITY MEETING: Lafayette Boulevard Safety & Comprehensive Study

πŸ“… Tuesday, September 1 at 6:30 PM
πŸ“ Church of the Epiphany

The Lafayette-Winona Civic League will host a special community meeting with the City of Norfolk Department of Transportation to discuss the final recommendations from the Lafayette Boulevard Comprehensive Study.

This meeting is open to everyone, you do not need to be a Civic League member to attend.

City staff will share what they heard from residents through the community survey, review the study’s findings and recommendations, and discuss the timeline for implementing proposed improvements.

Traffic safety and speeding along Lafayette Boulevard will be a major focus. The City also has encouraging news: some safety improvements originally considered long-term projects may now move forward within the next 1–3 years.

Councilwoman Johnson and Councilwoman Doyle might also attend.

This is an important opportunity to:

  • Hear the final recommendations for Lafayette Boulevard
  • Learn what is being proposed to address speeding and safety
  • Find out which improvements could happen sooner than originally expected
  • Ask questions and provide final community feedback
  • Hear what happens next as the project moves toward funding and implementation

We expect strong attendance and could have a packed house, so please plan to arrive on time.

If you live along Lafayette Boulevard, travel it regularly, or simply care about traffic safety in our neighborhood, we strongly encourage you to attend.

Please share with your neighbors. Everyone is welcome!
