The League is a nonpartisan civic organization dedicated to encouraging informed and active participation in government through voter education\, community outreach\, and public discussion of important issues. \nThe League works throughout our region to provide reliable election information\, host candidate forums\, and help residents better understand how decisions made by local and state governments affect their communities. Their presentation will highlight the League’s work in South Hampton Roads and share ways residents can stay informed\, engaged\, and involved in civic life.

CASA volunteers are specially trained to work alongside judges\, attorneys\, and social workers to ensure that each child’s best interests are represented and that they have a safe\, permanent home as quickly as possible. \nChristine will also speak about the critical need for volunteers in our community. CASA volunteers play a unique and powerful role by building consistent\, supportive relationships with children during some of the most challenging times in their lives. \nIf you’ve ever considered giving back in a meaningful way\, this is a great opportunity to learn how you can make a lasting impact right here in Norfolk.
